15 Hours of Studio Time | All Levels Welcome
Join our creative community for a hands-on pottery experience—perfect for total beginners and those seeking to expand their practice. Over 6 class sessions, you’ll join artist Lizzy Hamlin Volz to explore making decorative and functional pieces using slab techniques in a relaxed, supportive studio environment.
What’s Included
~ 15 hours of guided instruction and independent practice
~ Full access to equipment, tools and materials
~ 7 lbs of clay
~ Firing of all work completed within our schedule and guidelines
Want More Clay or Studio Time?
~ Additional clay available: $5/lb (up to 3 lbs)
~ Extra studio sessions: $30 for 3 hours (available on select weekday evenings and Sundays, TBA)
Schedule at a Glance: October 26 - November 30
We aim to complete all work within this cycle so that you can take home everything you’ve made. We follow this schedule:
~ Sessions 1–4: Handbuilding
~ Session 5: Making very small and thin items (under 4”), such as ornaments or jewelry
~ Session 6: Glazing session
Finished pieces will be ready for pickup a week or two after glazing.
If you are continuing your practice with us, we’ll open enrollments for the winter session on January 1.
Registration Details
~ Registration is nonrefundable and applies only to this session.
~ We offer studio time during regularly scheduled wheel classes (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8:30 and Tuesday mornings, 10am-12:30pm) if you need to miss a class. We’ll share details once class begins.
~ Can’t attend after paying? You’re welcome to give or sell your spot to a friend. Email us, too — we sometimes have a waitlist, and are motivated to fill our seats with creative people.
