Welcome to Mudcraft.
Mudcraft is a bright and friendly, community-focused pottery studio in Colchester, Vermont, just north of Burlington and Winooski.
Founded in 2021, we offer private events, parties, and small-group classes that welcome adults of all experience levels. Whether you’re new to clay or returning after a break, we’re here to support your learning, experimentation, and growth in a relaxed, encouraging environment.
Our Studio
Inside our clean and uncluttered space, you’ll find ten pottery wheels, two large work tables, a slab roller, an extruder, and an electric kiln that we fire to cone 6. We keep a wide selection of colorful commercial glazes on hand, and love exploring new clay bodies and techniques with our participants. Our gift shop and pop-up sales give participants a chance to showcase and sell their work to the wider community.
We’re always listening, learning, and adapting—so if there’s something you’d love to see in the studio, please let us know.

Our Values
Friendliness: There are no dumb questions here. Absolute beginners and experienced potters are welcomed with open arms, and we believe everyone has something to contribute at Mudcraft. Never touched clay before? We’ll have you making pots you love in no time.
Inclusivity: Everyone is welcome here. We keep our class sizes small—up to 8 students for wheel classes, and up to 16 for handbuilding and workshops, so we can offer individual support, encouragement, and room for all types of learners. Whatever your goals with clay, we’re here to help you get there.
Curiosity: We believe curiosity and courage are at the heart of creativity. In our studio, questions, experiments, and happy accidents are always welcome. Every wobbly pot and unexpected result opens the door to new ideas and techniques. We’re here to support your growth—and your creative courage, too.
Cleanliness: Clay is messy and clay dust is unhealthy, especially for people with respiratory issues. We run a HEPA filter full-time and we all work hard to keep our space clean and tidy so that participants can focus on the fun stuff -- making art!
